frequently asked questions - faq Here you can find some frequently asked questions (and some info that ppl could ask)... The List will be enlarged if necessary - and may not be complete.

  • What is the Demoscene?
    If you dont know what the so-called Demoscene is, plz have a look into Wikipedia. Theres a good description:

    At Youtube you can find a good TV Documentation which is also helpful (language is German - im sorry. If any of you knows a good english documentation on Youtube or somewhere else - plz send the link to our email)...

  • Why this Event?
    This Party is meant to bring creative ppl together who all together form the Demoscene. We want to offer a cozy place for those Sceners for lots of drinking, working and talking - and to compete with their productions via beamer, bigscreen and so on. This party is going to be organized for the 2nd time...


  • Who is welcome?
    Especially ppl with a strong relation to the Demoscene. But also ppl who are just interested in watching Demos are very welcome. We dont really want ppl to come who think this is something like a LAN party - because its definately not. Computer games are ok up to an arguable amount. But if you just want to come to play games - plz better look for another party.


  • How much space do you have - and how many ppl do you expect to attend?
    We have space for approx. 200 ppl with hardware (well, if everyone of those 200 brings hardware it will be a little bit cuddly hehe.) Also the Power supply for 200 ppl shouldnt be a problem if no one starts bringing his kitchen-equipment like a fridge or a barbecue-grill or whatever with him. so better leave that at home ;-)
    So how many ppl do we expect to attend?... Thats hard to say. We had 75 ppl attending our first Party in february 2007 and want to attract some more ppl for 2008. I think everything on 120-150 ppl would be a big success. So thats what we hope for.

  • When will the Party take place?
    Vom 22.02.2008 - 24.02.2008



  • Where is the Party going to take place?
    The Party will take place in Flensburg / Northern Germany - close to the Danish border. The Address is:

  • Can you bring Hardware?
    Ofcourse! And we suggest you do! :-) ...But if you cant bring your Hardware for any kind of reasons thats no problem.



  • What about the Parking Space?
    Parking Space is definately no problem. Theres space for more than 100 Cars.



  • How much is the entrance fee?
    This time it has to be 25.00 EUR (no other currencys)... Thats 5.00 EUR more than last time. But we are going to imrpofe alot of things like the technical equipment - and we will have live-acts on stage next time. so that should be quite ok and very cheap for around 44 hours full of party and entertainment.



  • Do female attenders have to pay the full price?
    Yes! This time females have to pay the full entrance fee - because they profit the same way from everything we can offer at our party. times are over when just a very few girls attended at partys together with their scene-boyfriends. so we have to skip that oldfashioned rule this time. we have to pay alot for everything we are going to offer - so why not let the girls pay for that too? the breakpoint party started it this year- and we will do the same. Also... females dont need to feel like 2nd class sceners here.


  • Is there a minimum age for attenders?
    Yes, the minimum age is set to 18 years. Thats because of the German law... we would be responsible for younger ppl - and we hope you understand that we dont want to take that risk (protection of minors...)



  • What about the Catering?
    We are going to have a Catering... We will sell some kind of food for 24hrs. / day at the info desk. In addition we eventually can offer a pizza-delivery service again (orders at fixed times). Also Beer and softdrinks will be offered for very low prices at our info-desk. Coffee and Tea Support will be free 24hrs. / day.



  • What about the technical equipment?
    Last time we used the equipment which was already installed in the Party-Hall. This time we are going to rent alot more professional equipment.



  • What else do you offer for Entertainment?
    We are going to have live-acts on stage. Check this out. We are also planning on opening ceremony and eventually a closing ceremony, demoshows, fun-competitions... whatever.



  • Will there be a separated Sleeping-Room?
    Yes!.



  • What about the Toilets and so on?
    Theres enough Toilets for male / females in a good condition. We will also try to offer taking a shower at fixed times. They will be announced at the party.



  • What about the Party-Rules?
    Ofcourse theres Rules. Plz check them out here. If you dont agree to them - better stay home :-)
